MY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I have a HUUUUUUUGE announcement to make!
I can't hold back anymore! It's been so hard holding back the GREAT news the past few weeks. I have to share it and let it out now!

I'm opening my first YUMI KIM flagship store in New York!!!

Whooohoooooo! I didn't want to say anything weeks ago until everything was confirmed 100%. I've been super busy busting my butt working on renovations the past 2 weeks.  That's why I've been so exhausted and tired! It's been so crazy balancing everything from my day to day business operations, designing, production, attending Project LV, preparing for the Coterie Trade Show, and now I have this HUGE project of opening my first YUMI KIM shop--all in one month...oh my goodness. I honestly wasn't planning on opening a YUMI KIM shop this soon, but this shop kind of landed on my lap. I took it as a sign and ran with it.

I'm sooooo excited and can't wait for you guys to see it!!!

YUMI KIM flagship shop is opening soon in the Lower Eastside--yup, my favorite neighborhood in NYC baby! Yaaaaaay! Check it out!

I'M SOOOOO EXCITED, AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!!!!!!!!

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK- SPRING 2009: 9/7

I've had such a looooooong work day. I don't know if it's because I'm so exhausted that my Spring WISH LIST is pretty short today. I just finished browsing through Day #3, and so far PREEN is sticking out amongst the rest.

I've been a big fan of PREEN for quite sometime now.
LOVE the minimal, but detailed pieces they make!

LOVE the zippers on this dress!

I rarely wear red tones, but this one I would totally rock! It's so funky!

I'm all about the little black dresses. This one will never go out of style.
Check out the shoes too!

SARI GUERON, I LOVE the touch of lace and bling you incorporated into you Spring Collection. Very cute!

Awww, HERVE LEGER...where do I begin with you? You oooooze of SEX SEX SEX. You sure know how to make a girl feel fat...ha. This swimsuit is so sexy. Maybe the next BOND girl could rock this piece? This suit sure makes me want to run to the gym...LOL!

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK- SPRING 2009 COLLECTION
My Spring 09 Wish List continues...

JAMES COVIELLO, I'm really feeling all your prints! Love the color combos you selected for Spring!
KOI SUWANNATE, I could dress this up with heels, or wear it with flip flops on my casual days.
ROSA CHA, always about sexy sexy swimsuits.  This one I could totally rock!
VENA CAVA, you ladies totally rock!  I LOOOOOVE your designs!
UNITED BAMBOO, the duo does it again!  I'm feeling this quirky piece!
ADAM, who doesn't LOVE rockin bright colors in the spring? It always brightens my mood!
THREE AS FOUR, you guys always amaze me!  I LOVE this piece!

Ok, I saved the BEST for last.  I am a HUGE fan of ALEXANDER WANG! I LOVE his roll out of bed grunge girl from Fall 08. I know I'm always rockin YUMI KIM & Vintage, but my all time favorite outfit is a comfy soft T-shirt, vintage denim skirt, and a cool pair of vintage shoes or boots.

For Spring 09, Wang brought back the grunge girl a bit; she's just a little bit more polished and is sporting a little color =).  I have to say, I can't wait to purchase my first pair of Alexander Wang shoes launching Spring 09.  Check out the shoes in Alexander Wang's Spring 09 Collection here on style.com. They're making me drool! So HOT!!!

I can't believe New York Fashion Week is already here...BIG WOW! I've been so caught up with work and my own thing that I haven't been paying attention to all the commotion that normally goes on in the city during NY Fashion Week.

Yesterday was the first day of the show.  I always browse through all the collections and make notes of all the pieces I LOVE and place them on my WISH LIST =). Check out some of the items I would LOVE to rock this upcoming Spring...

YIGAL AZROUEL- very chic and the details are so pretty!
I was very impressed with BCBG's Spring 2009 Collection!
There were so many pieces I wanted to own!

BULLSEYE!

It's been such a hectic week for me. I can't believe Coterie Trade Show is coming up and I still have 50 millions things to do up until the show...Urghhhh! This is a MAJOR show for me, because pretty much all my accounts (including international accts from Japan, Dubai, Europe, etc.) show up to preview the line.  It's my one chance to showcase all of Spring 2009 at one time.  That explains why I'm feeling a bit stressed. I'm still waiting for my salesman samples to trickle in and I still have to shoot a look book for it! I can't shoot anything until ALL the samples arrive...Urghhhh!  I have a lot of pressure because Spring is always my biggest collection. To add onto the stress, yesterday I found out the Coterie set up is now the same day as the show 6AM-11AM, and then the show starts at 11AM. OMG- how crazy is that? We usually take 8-10hrs to set up, and now we're doing it in 5...geeez louis! Oh my goodness, I'm gonna be a HOT MESS that day. I'm so not looking forward to it!

With all the craziness of traveling, and preparing for the shows, I still managed to squeeze in a few social outings this week. It's been a week full of birthdays for me. Even with my busy schedule, I always try to make time for my personal life. A few nights ago, I stopped by my friend Angelique's Bday dinner. Johnny was hosting it, and of course he picked JOHNNY UTAH...uh huh. I was not prepared for it at all. I showed up wearing a cute vintage dress thinking it was going to be an intimate dinner. Well, a few drinks later, we all thought we were in Texas....LOL. Check it out....

Sorry for the lag in taking pix of my outfits in Vegas. I was so crazy busy out there I totally forgot about taking pix. Sorry guys!

My outfit for the bday dinner....
awww, the bday girl...
Johnny booked us in a private room that looked like we were inside a bank vault.  Pretty cool!
Always silly times with you J!

how crazy....both doctors and same bday =)!

The host showing us how to ride the bull...

ooooh weee, a few bday toasts and drinks later we all thought we were in TEXAS!

I wasn't planning on participating at all, not in my dress! Oh hell no!  I finally gave in and said, "OK, I'm going to ride it ONLY if the birthday girl does it."  Well, I really thought she wasn't going to....a few drinks later, she changed her mind!  Oh no, I'm in trouble!
Oh my, it was an experience to remember...LOL!
I  AM A WOMAN OF MY WORDS!
Thanks, Johnny & Angelique for a fab night. Sorry I had to cut out early =(. Too much work, so little time. Love you guys!

She got legs...

I can't believe it's already SEPTEMBER...geez, where did time go? As soon as September hits and Labor Day passes, for most of us Summer is officially over. Boo hoooo hooo =(! It's a sign that it's time to start dressing for fall.  It's time to pull out the sweaters, boots, and cute pieces to layer up.

While sitting at the airport the other day waiting for my flight back to NYC, I decided to do some online shopping =). What a nice way to kill time, right? I was searching for cool Fall pieces to add onto my wardrobe. I stumbled onto Costume Dept., a cool leggings company. I LOVE that they have such a good selection of funky prints to choose from.  I would totally rock these hip leggings with a solid basic t-shirt...oh so stylish!

LOVE...LOVE...LOVE my new leggings by Costume Dept.!
Check out how cool they look!

Leggings are perfect for those lazy days, and the best part is that they're so comfortable=). I couldn't help but order all of the prints/colorways below. They're too cool to pass up!
They cost between $35-$55....pretty cool deal!
These leggings are perfect for spicing up any simple outfit!

I think they're so HOT!
I hope they arrive in the mail soon, because I can't wait to ROCK them!

SPOTLIGHT: THE SATORIALIST

I've been a big fan of the Satorialist's blog for quite some time now. Scott Schuman started The Satorialist to share photographs of real people on the streets that he thought looked great. I LOVE how his photos always have a cool factor to it. The man has such a great eye!

Meet Scott Shuman.....such a handsome man!

Recently, he was appointed by GANT to document how 10 different New Yorkers would combine garments from GANT's Fall/ Winter 2008 collection with their own wardrobe. Scott hand-picked "real life" models, representing the different faces of the downtown New York street scene. Each of the models were then photographed by Scott at a selected downtown location that reflected their own individual vibe. Check out the results.....Keep up the great work, Scott...I LOVE IT!
